Toying Around Reviews - TMNT Werewolf Mikey

ARE THERE, NINJAS?

Yes, Maurer, there is a Ninja. A fun-loving Pizza eating ninja. Today we will be taking a look at Werewolf Mikey from the Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Monsters + Mutants line.

Packaging: Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

The front of the box shows off the Nickelodeon logo with the new Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles logo below it. To the right of that, you have a picture of the 4 dressed up in the monster costumes. Mikey is clearly displayed in the middle of the box with the wave’s name and his name listed below. Turning the box to the side you get a nice side shot of Mikey due to the blister card packaging. On the back of the box, we get a little read-up along with 6 pictures of the other turtles in this wave. The other side of the box also gives you a nice look at Mikey from the side.

Outside of the Box: Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking Mikey out of the box the 1st thing you notice is his nice bright orange jacket and the fur from him turning into the werewolf. Playmates did a good job on the paint. normally with TMNT figures, you get some paint but not a lot, however, on the back Mikey's jacket says Wolf Pack. this does not have any paint.

Accessories: Let’s see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

Mikey comes with Bone Nunchucks and a slice of pizza.

Articulation: How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

Mushroom Pegged Head - allows you to swivel the head 360 degrees. Ball Jointed Shoulders - gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm. Singles Jointed Swivel Elbows - this allows for a 90-degree bend at the elbow. The swivel in the elbow allows for a complete 360-degree rotation of the lower arm. Swivel Wrists - allows you to turn her wrists in a full 360-degree circle. Hinged Legs - This allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion. Single-Jointed Swivel Knees - This joint, allows you to bend the knee to about 90 degrees. The swivel allows you to swivel the lower leg 360 degrees. Foot Hinge (left foot only) - this allows for a little more articulation when posing the legs.

Size Comparison: How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Mikey stands right at 4 inches tall. For size comparison, have Mikey standing with the DC Multiverse Justice League Batman, we also have Mikey standing with the Out of the Shadows Mikey and the Nick Turtles Mikey.

Rating: What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure? Paint Job 2/5 for once Playmates gave us a little more paint on a figure. It's not perfect but its more than normal. Figure Sculpt 3/5 The sculpt is very well done, Mikey has a lot of nice little details on him Posing / Durability 3/5 The figure is very well made. has a nice amount of articulation for a TMNT figure. The only question is, is with only the left foot having the foot thing? Why not both? Overall Score 2.66/5 Overall I like this figure. it is said that the show is coming to an end, but there will be a new one next year to take its place. So we can only hope we will have a toy line to go with it as well.

Retail Cost: $8.99
