Toying Around Reviews - Star Wars Black Series - Star Wars: Droids Boba Fett (Target Exclusive)

Updated: Feb 11, 2023

Today we will look at the 6-inch Star Wars Black Series Boba Fett, but this isn’t just any regular Boba. This is how he looked in the 1985 animated series Star Wars Droids. Star Wars: Droids: The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO is a 1985 animated series spin-off from the original Star Wars trilogy. It focuses on the exploits of droids R2-D2 and C-3PO between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. The series was produced by Nelvana on behalf of Lucasfilm and broadcast on ABC with its sister series Ewoks. The series ran for one season of 13 half-hour episodes.

PACKAGING: Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Boba Fett comes in a rectangular-styled box. The front of the box has the Star Wars Droids logo and an image of Boba Fett on how he looked in the show. Turning the box to the side we get the Star Wars Droids logo. The back of the box gives us a new picture, this time with the Droids running away. The other side of the box gives us the same artwork of Boba that is on the front. This box does open up to let you look at the figure inside. Inside we get the same artwork that is on the back of the box along with the figure displayed with all his accessories.

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX: Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking Boba out of the box we can see that this is just a normal boba that was recolored to match how he looked in the show. The Baby Blue colors on him really make him pop!

ACCESSORIES: Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

Boba Fett comes with a Jet pack, a small blaster, and a large blaster

ARTICULATION: How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

BOBA FETT’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: BALL JOINTED HINGED NECK - allows you to turn the head 360 degrees.

BALL-HINGED SHOULDERS - Gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

SINGLE JOINTED ELBOWS - This allows you to bend the arm about 90 degrees.

SWIVEL BALL HINGE WRISTS - It allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

WAIST SWIVEL - This lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

BALL JOINTED LEGS - With this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

DOUBLE JOINTED KNEES - The joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure.

BALL JOINTED ANKLES - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back and also to the left and right.

SIZE COMPARISON: How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Boba stands right around the 6-inch mark, for a size comparison here is Boba standing next to Darth Vader

RATING: What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

PAINT JOB 5/5 - The paint they used really does make him look like how he did in the cartoon.

FIGURE SCULPT 4/5 - The sculpt is pretty well done, however the limit on the elbows does make it a little hard to pose sometimes

POSING 3.5/5 - Double-jointed elbows or even an upper bicep cut would have helped out a lot.

ACCESSORIES: 5/5 - He comes with everything he had in the carton episode so now sure what else we could ask for.

DURABILITY 4/5 - The plastic is overall good, the ankles are a little soft and I wonder about them giving out over time.

OVERALL SCORE 4.3/5 - The only thing different about him is the paint, so I would say only pick him up if you are a fan of the colors, the animated show, or just need to collect everything that is Boba Fett

RETAIL COST: $26.99 I PICKED MINE UP AT TARGET.
