For today’s review, we are going to be taking a look at the GameStop exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Shredder. This is how Shredder appeared in the 1990 movie. The National Entertainment Collectibles Association or NECA is an American manufacturer of collectibles typically licensed from films, video games, sports, music, and television that is based in New Jersey. The company was founded in 1996 and has over 60 licenses for which it produces products.

Shredder comes in what has been the standard box for the single-boxed release of all the movie turtle figures. The front of the box has a nice big window display so you can see Shredder and everything he comes with. The bottom of the box has the Turtles popping out of the swear as they did in the original movie poster. Shredder’s name is running along the bottom of the box along with the Nickelodeon and Only at GameStop pictures. Turning the box to the side we get a full look at the Shredder figure. The back of the box has some more promo pictures of Shredder along with a quick bio on him. NOW YOU CAN CATCH AMERICA’S FAVORITE GREEN TEENS IN THEIR FIRST LIVE-ACTION BLOCKBUSTER FILM. OUTSIDE OF THE BOX: Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.
Taking Shredder out of the box we get a good look at him, This Shredder is definitely how he looked in the 90s movie. The faceplate even comes off so you can get a good look at the scars that Splinter left him.
ACCESSORIES: Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.
SHREDDER COMES WITH: Closed fisted hands Grasping hands Open palm hands Knife Spear Cape
ARTICULATION: How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!
SHREDDER’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: BALL JOINTED NECK: allows you to swivel the head 360 degrees. BALL-HINGED SHOULDERS: gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm. DOUBLE-JOINTED ELBOWS: This allows you to bend the arm over 90 degrees. SWIVEL HINGE WRISTS: allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down. WAIST SWIVEL: This lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist. BALL JOINTED LEGS: with this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion. DOUBLE-JOINTED KNEES: This joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure. ANKLE SWIVEL: The ankle swivel lets you turn the feet a full 360 degrees.
SIZE COMPARISON: How does the size of this figure compare to others?
Shredder stands right around 7 inches tall. Here is Shredder standing next to his animated counterpart. Next, we have Shredder standing next to the Leo NECA movie figure.
RATING: What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure? PAINT JOB 5/5 The paint job on Shredder is well done. The silver paint pops and the sparkles throughout his suit look just like they did in the movie. FIGURE SCULPT 5/5 The sculpt of this figure is just perfect. He looks like the Shredder from the movie. nothing to complain about at all. POSING 4/5 The only thing I think he is missing is an upper bicep cut. It would allow for some better poses overall. ACCESSORIES: 5/5 all the hands, the weapons, the CAPE! I don’t think there is anything else we as fans could ask for. DURABILITY 4/5 The joints are super tight on the figure so make sure you take some warm water or a hairdryer to the figure before moving him. OVERALL SCORE 4.6/5 I love this Shredder. I was never able to get my hands on the movie turtles when they came out (Thanks Maurer for letting me borrow Leo), and not having them with this amazing Shredder figure makes me sad because they will look perfect together. RETAIL COST: $24.99 I picked mine up at my local GameStop.
TIME FOR SOME TOYING AROUND!!
