Toying Around Reviews - Marvel Legends: Thor Love and Thunder: Mighty Thor

Updated: Feb 8, 2023

Today we are taking a look at the Mighty Thor aka Jane Foster Thor. This is how Jane will look in the upcoming Thor Love and Thunder movie opening up this weekend. The Marvel Legends Series is a lower-tier toy line that both collectors and non-collectors alike would be interested in. This is an action figure line based on the characters of Marvel Comics, initially produced by Toy Biz, then by Hasbro. This line is in the 6-inch (150 mm) scale, with spin-off lines in the 4-inch (100 mm), 8-inch (200 mm), and 12-inch (300 mm) scale. these figures tend to look good inside and outside the box.

PACKAGING: Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

Thor comes packed in the stranded Marvel Legends Series box. The top of the box has the Build-A-Figure logo, this wave is for KORG, The Legends Series logo is right below it. Thor is displayed in the middle through the large window that showcases the figure as well as the accessories. This gives great visibility to collectors that may not be opening it. On the bottom of the box, you have the Thor Love and Thunder logo as this is a part of the movie’s line. On the left side of the box, we get some artwork of Thor. On the back of the box, we have a picture of Spider-Man as well as a small bio as well as the rest of the figures you need to complete KORG. Flipping the box to the right side now, you see we get the same artwork again.

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX: Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking Thor out of the box we can see that Hasbro has done a good job at making the figure look like she does in the movie. The Jane Foster head sculpt is very well done and I can see Natalie Portman.

ACCESSORIES: Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

The Mighty Thor comes with Mjölnir that is cracked, her helmeted head, and the left foot for the KORG build-a-figure

ARTICULATION: How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

BALL-HINGED SHOULDERS - These give the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

DOUBLE-JOINTED ELBOWS - This allows you to bend the arm over 90 degrees.

SWIVEL HINGE WRISTS - This allows you to turn her wrist in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down. The left hand has an up-and-down hinge. The right hand has a left and right hinge

DIAPHRAGM SWIVEL - This lets you turn the figure around 360 degrees at the diaphragm.

BALL JOINTED LEGS - With this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

UPPER THIGH SWIVEL - The leg can rotate around a full 360 degrees.

DOUBLE-JOINTED KNEES - The joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure.

HINGED ANKLES WITH ROCKERS - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back. The rockers allow you to rock the ankles towards the outside and inside of the legs of the figure.

SIZE COMPARISON: How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Thor stands right around 6 inches tall. Here is our new Thor standing next to Iron Man and Thor from the Love and Thunder movie.

RATING: What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

PAINT JOB 5/5 - The paint job on this figure is very well done. really have no complaints

FIGURE SCULPT 5/5 - Same with the sculpt, it is very done that he looks like she stepped right off the screen

POSING 4/5 - The only real issue with this figure is the feet are just a little too small to hold her up, it is difficult at times to get her to stand.

ACCESSORIES: 5/5 - I can’t think of anything else she should come with.

DURABILITY 5/5 - Plastic is great on this figure, no worries at all.

OVERALL SCORE 4.8/5 - This Thor is very good and leaps and bounds better than the comic one we got all those years ago.
