Today we are taking a look at Mickey Mouse from the new Disney Mirrorverse line from McFarlane Toys. Disney Mirrorverse is an upcoming crossover mobile role-playing game. The game features evolved and amplified versions of Disney and Pixar characters that combine RPG with combat and fighting gameplay. McFarlane Toys, a subsidiary of Todd McFarlane Productions, is a company founded by comics creator Todd McFarlane which makes highly detailed model figurines of characters from movies, comics, popular music, video games, and various sporting genres.
PACKAGING: Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.
Mickey comes in what will be the standard blister card packaging for the 5-inch figures. The top of the box has the Mirrorverse logo. Mickey’s name is right below that. The middle of the packaging is a blister bubble that lets you see Mickey and his accessories very clearly. Below that on the left we have the trading card that every figure comes with, on the right is a picture of Mickey. Moving the blister card around to the side we do get a very clear look at Mickey from the side. This is great for any collector that wishes to keep the figure mint on the card. The back of the blister card is the same for all figures. it has some artwork of current and possibly future figures. The bottom has pictures of all the figures in this first wave.
OUTSIDE OF THE BOX: Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.
Taking mickey off the blister we get a really good look at the figure. This is a white version of the classic Sorcerer Mickey from the 1940 animated film FANTASIA. Moving Mickey around to all sides we can see all the details that McFarlane Toys put into the figure. The Cape alone has a ton of detail. The way the figure is sculpted it looks like Mickey is starting to float when looking at him from the side.
ACCESSORIES: Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.
Mickey comes with a Star Crystal and a trading card
ARTICULATION: How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!
MICKEY’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: BALL JOINTED NECK - allows you to turn the head 360 degrees.
BALL-HINGED SHOULDERS - Gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.
SWIVEL WRISTS - It allows you to turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle.
WAIST SWIVEL - This lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.
ANKLE SWIVEL - The ankle swivel allows you to move the feet 360 degrees at the ankles.
SIZE COMPARISON: How does the size of this figure compare to others?
To the top of Mickey’s hat, he stands right at the 5.5-inch mark. Here is Mickey standing next to a normal Mickey and a Sorcerer Mickey, both from the Disney ToyBox line.
RATING: What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?
PAINT JOB 4.5/5 - overall the paint is done nicely. there are a few spots on my figure that the paint is a little heavy-handed, like on the face.
FIGURE SCULPT 5/5 The sculpt on the figure is very well done. it does look like he is floating and getting ready to use power when he is holding the star crystal.
POSING 2/5 - a little more added articulation would have been good on this figure. then we could get him in some really cool posses.
ACCESSORIES: 3.5/5 - the Star crystal is nice but since Mickey does float in it would have been nice to get a stand to make it look like he is.
DURABILITY 5/5 - The plastic is very strong on this little figure. I don’t feel like anything is going to break.
OVERALL SCORE 4/5 - I do like this figure, just a few extra little things and he be perfect. we all know Todd loves his repaints so I can’t wait for this figure to come out in the classic red look
