Updated: Feb 8, 2023

Today we will be taking a look at Superman from the new DC Direct 7-inch Page Punchers line from McFarlane Toys. Incredibly detailed 7" scale figure based on the DC Multiverse. Included is a collectible comic featuring what the figure is based on, as well as a collectible art card with figure photography on the front, and a character biography on the back. Designed with Ultra Articulation with up to 22 moving parts for a full range of posing and play. Superman is based on his look from the Black Adam Comic. Superman comes with a set of alternate hands and a flight stand base. The figure is showcased in DC Direct-themed window box packaging. McFarlane Toys, a subsidiary of Todd McFarlane Productions, is a company founded by comics creator Todd McFarlane which makes highly detailed model figurines of characters from movies, comics, popular music, video games, and various sporting genres.

PACKAGING: Before we open this up, let's take a look at the packaging.

These new 7-inch Page Punches come in a box that is very similar to the deluxe boxes that the DC Multiverse figures come in. The box itself is white and black instead of the black and blue of the normal boxes. The front of the box displays a nice big window that displays the figure, the comic, and all the accessories the figure comes with. The top of the Box has the DC Direct logo at the top letting us know that he is a part of the DC Direct line. The bottom of the box has a nice big DC logo as well as the figure’s name. Turning the box to the side we have the name of the figure, and where the inspiration for the figure came from. The back of the box gives us the figure in an action pose, and the comic book he comes with. Turning the box around one more time we get a small window that lets us see the figure.

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX: Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.

Taking Superman out of the box we can see that the figure itself looks very good, The figure is based on the cover art from the comic book he comes with. On the inside of the comic Superman looks like he normally does in the current comics. I do really like how superman looks, It’s a little bit different than we normally get. He is a little smaller and the colors are a little more muted than normal.

ACCESSORIES: Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.

Superman comes with left and right open (flight) hands, left and right-fisted hands, a trading card, a comic book, and a flight stand.

ARTICULATION: How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!

SUPERMAN’S ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: DUMBBELL JOINTED NECK - allows you to turn the head 360 degrees.

BUTTERFLY HING - This allows you to move the shoulder area front and back to get a better range of motion.

BALL-HINGED SHOULDERS - These give the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.

UPPER BICEP SWIVEL - This cut lets you turn the whole arm below the cut 360 degrees.

DOUBLE-JOINTED ELBOWS - This allows you to bend the arm over 90 degrees.

BALL SWIVEL HINGE WRISTS - With this, you can turn his wrists in a full 360-degree circle while also bending them up and down.

DIAPHRAGM SWIVEL - This lets you turn the figure around 360 degrees at the diaphragm.

BALL JOINTED WAIST - This lets you be able to turn the figure around 360 degrees at the waist.

HINGE JOINTED LEGS - With this it allows the legs to move out to the side along with some front and back motion.

DOUBLE-JOINTED KNEES - The joint allows you to bend the leg itself back to the butt of the figure.

BALL JOINTED ANKLES - The ankle hinge allows you to bend the foot front and back and also to the left and right.

TOE JOINT - This allows you to bend the toes up so you can pose the figure a little better when making him look like he is running or walking.

SIZE COMPARISON: How does the size of this figure compare to others?

Superman stands right at 7 inches tall. Here is Superman standing next to some other McFarlane Superman, Action Comics 1000 Superman, and also DC Rebirth Superman. Both look and feel a little bit bigger than our new Superman. Next, we have Superman standing next to our new Super Powers Superman, the 3-inch Page Punchers Superman, and also Spin-Master's Superman.

RATING: What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?

PAINT JOB 5/5 - The paint on this figure is very well done, with no main issues at all.

FIGURE SCULPT 4.5/5 - The sculpt is very well done, He looks just like he does on the comic cover. The only real issue is the hands, they are comically HUGE, and they need to be half a size smaller.

POSING 5/5 - This Superman looks really good with the new ball joints that McFarlane is doing. Also with this Superman, you can get his head looking up, so it works very well for flight poses.

ACCESSORIES: 5/5 - flight stand and open hands, not more than you can ask for for a Superman figure.

DURABILITY 5/5 - don’t see or feel any issues with the plastic on this figure.

OVERALL SCORE 4.9/5 - If he had some smaller hands he would be perfect.

RETAIL COST: $24.99 I PICKED MINE UP AT MCFARLANE TOYS!
