PACKAGING:
Before we open this up, let's check out the packaging.
All 4 figures come boxed in the same style boxes. The Nickelodeon and 40th anniversary logos are at the top left with Mike and Ralph tearing through the box at the top right. The figure along with all his accessories is displayed in the middle. The bottom of the box has the TMNT logo and the figure's name. Donnie and Leo are tearing through the box at the bottom left. Turning the box to the side we have a wrap-around of the front window. This is great for anyone who wishes to keep the figures mint in the box. At the bottom, we get a picture of each figure holding the different weapons they come with. On the back of the box, we get all 4 Turtles holding the normal weapons and standing on the display bases. The other side of the box gives us Leo and Donnie peaking put from the top above some more of the window wrapping from the front. The bottom gives us a look at all 4 Turtles on the display bases connected.
INSIDE OF THE BOX:
Let's take a look at how the figure comes packed inside.
Taking the Turtles out of the box we can see that each Turtle comes in a plastic try with all the weapons. Behind the figure is his display base.
OUTSIDE OF THE BOX:
Let's open the box and take a closer look at the figure.
So after taking all 4 Turtles out we can see that each Turtle, for the most part, looks like the old 80s figure. For some reason though Leo and Donnie's heads were swapped. Not sure of the reason for that. The other thing you will notice is that each figure now has this texture all over him. Some people are hating on this, personally, it didn't bother me once I got the figures in hand.
ACCESSORIES:
Let's see what kind of accessories the figure comes with.
Each figure comes with his iconic weapon as well as a slew of other weapons, including a 2nd main weapon to use and throwing stars. Each Turtle also comes with one display base that can be snapped together as it was shown on the box.
ARTICULATION:
How can we pose the figure? Let's find out!
THE TURTLES' ARTICULATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
BALL-HINGED HEAD - This allows you to turn the head 360 degrees around
BALL-HINGED SHOULDERS - Gives the arm 360-degree rotation and also the ability to raise and lower the arm.
SINGLE JOINTED SWIVEL ELBOWS - This allows you to bend the arm about 90 degrees.
SWIVEL WRISTS - It will enable you to turn the figure's wrists in a full 360-degree.
BALL JOINTED LEGS - With this, the legs will move out to the side along with some front and back motion.
SINGLE JOINTED SWIVEL KNEES - The joint allows you to bend the leg and also turn it a full 360 degrees.
ANKLE SWIVEL - With this joint you can turn the ankle a full 360 degrees.
SIZE COMPARISON:
How does the size of this figure compare to others?
Our new Turtle figures stand right around the 4.5-inch mark. Putting them right in line with the Sketch Turtles we got not that long ago. However, they are so much taller than our old vintage Turtles, mostly because they were in sculpted poses back then.
RATING:
What are Baby Huey's scores for the figure?
PAINT JOB 5/5 - The paint job on these guys is on point.
FIGURE SCULPT 5/5 - The all-new look of these guys makes them feel classic yet modern at the same time, kind of how Mattel did it for MOTU.
POSING 4/5 - You can get them in some good poses but the lack of a hinge at the ankle hurts the figure.
ACCESSORIES: 5/5 - I don't know what else to ask for. These guys come packed with a ton.
DURABILITY 5/5 - The plastic is nice and strong, nothing is going to snap or break
OVERALL SCORE 4.8/5 - I love these guys and I'm glad I was able to find them at my Walmart.
RETAIL COST: $12.97
