MASHKO

"Can I kick it?!"

Ever just want to defy the status quo and open a toy store because you love this world of toys, comics, and the solitary excitement of the Fast and the Furious franchise? No? Well, that's because no one kicks it like Mashko. Don't let the calm demeanor fool you, this cartoon-hating DJ‘s opinion may be against the grain, but the arguments are hard to refute. He prefers the artistry of a good action movie over gimmicks and nostalgia.

Q & A

Why do you love comic books?

For me, it's the art, the character design. The outrageous storylines. The grounded storylines. There's so much to enjoy about comic books it's hard to put into words. In some instances it's the memories that are attached to certain books. Let's also not forget the collectability.

What’s the Best Comic book of all time?

There are so many books that can take that title but there's only one that comes to mind, The Killing Joke. This book changed the way I thought about comic books and sent me down a deep rabbit hole looking for more mature storylines. It also set very high expectations for all the books I would later try to enjoy.

What comic character has the best rogues gallery?

By far, it's Batman. There's so much diversity across all the villains that each one has their own unique story of torment that in some cases runs parallel to Bruce Wayne's own life.

Who is the best Ninja Turtle?

While I'm not a huge Turtles fan, I can certainly appreciate the longevity and popularity of the IP.  With that said, I have to go with Raphael. He might not know enough about machines but he does have the most attitude on the team.

THIS OR THAT

SUPERMAN OR BATMAN

Absolutely Batman. If everyone has been following along, then you know I prefer grounded characters. I'm not a big fan of superpowers so the street level heroes are who appeals to me the most.

MARVEL OR DC

With Punisher, Daredevil, Blade and Wolverine being some of my favorite characters, I would be hard pressed to say DC.

ESCAPISM OR REALISM

This is a trick question. I prefer realism but that realism creates the escapism that I enjoy in comic books. I think that makes sense?

STAR WARS OR STAR TREK

Always Star Wars. There just isn't enough Star Trek content to even compete.
